Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Crisp Oatmeal

breakfast slow cooker apple cinnamon crisp oatmealThis slow cooker apple cinnamon crisp oatmeal is a delicious, easy breakfast treat with a consistency between creamy oatmeal and apple crisp! (It’s OK to drool. I won’t tell.)

The protein, carbs and fats in this recipe are satisfactory, but I consider this a “cheat day” meal because of the brown sugar content. Those on a less strict diet, especially in the Cystic Fibrosis community, may feel more free to eat this on a regular basis, depending on your preferences! For those searching for a clean alternative with the same great taste, try Zack’s Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Shake!

YOU’LL NEED:
2 Apples (peeled and cubed)
1 cup Steel cut oats (uncooked)
2 cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1 cup Water
3 tbsp Brown sugar
3 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt

TO MAKE:
Place all ingredients in crockpot and mix well. Cook on low for 7 hours. The top will crust over and the final consistency will be somewhere between creamy oatmeal and apple crisp!

Gooood morning sunshine! Let me know what you think!
